Catching up…

Back again my darlings! So much to catch up on.

Two weeks ago I helped my friend Donna Persona with her “Hotter Than July” charity show benefiting the Night Ministry. I tried out some new stuff: the retro-soul, “Bring It Home” by The Bamboos, featuring Alice Russell, who’s not well-known here, but is huge in the UK.

Then it was the Dream Queens Review at Aunt Charlies, where in honor of my friend Sheena Rose, the outgoing Miss Cowgirl 2007, I did a night of country — and even found a country Christmas song to go with the night’s “Christmas in July” theme. Dug out my cute little Mrs. Claus outfit to do “Let It Snow” by Rhonda Vincent, then Lisa Koch’s comedic ballad, “Back When We Had Sex,” and finished up with Jill King’s honky-tonk rocker “After All.”

Sheena had asked me to perform at her step-down, so I cowgirled-up and performed Miranda Lambert’s “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.”

Now I’m just busy practicing for my upcoming live-singing (no lipsyching) show at Martuni’s with the lovely Trauma Flintstone.

That’s Liza with a ‘Z’

Liza meets LizaMarcy Playground wanted to buy some jewelry for me, so I went up to the Charlie Horse Show Friday as a civilian and I’d never seen so many sequin queens at The Cinch before! (Yeah, I know, like that’s a bad thing….)

But it was the “Liza and Judy the Second Coming” night — Anna Conda’s apparently gotten over her phobia of show tunes. The strangest act of the night was Mercy Faque doing a Liza cover of “Bohemian Raphosody”! Guess the meds must have been catching up to poor Liza at that point in her career….

BTW, if you live up in San Francisco and are bored on Monday nights, Anna’s started DJing at The Cinch, which has a happy hour from 4-10. Check it out, dahlings…
